"Muhammad Ali Jinnah"
September 11, 1948), a 20th century politician and statesman, is regarded as the founder of Pakistan. He served as leader of The Muslim League and Pakistan's first Governor-General. Three simple actions that doubled my website traffic in 30 days
I took a look around at what some of the successful blogs were doing and came up with three tactics that helped to double my website traffic in a month.
1.First, I made the most of Technorati tags. I tagged every key word in each of my posts. Initially I did this manually but them I discovered a WordPress plugin called SimpleTags that made the job a whole lot easier. I found that by tagging my post effectively they were getting a lot more attention then their untagged counterparts, and as an added advantage I was getting focused, quality traffic to the site!
2.I leveraged my existing website. I’ve been running my business website for a few years and that was getting modest levels of traffic that was relevant to my blog – so why not try to drive some of that to my new blog! I placed a few FeedBurner headline animator blocks on some of my most popular pages and after a day or so I noticed a significant increase in traffic for 5 minutes worth of work on my part.
3.Finally, I made effective use of trackback links to popular sites. If I commented on a post on another site I would make sure that I set up the appropriate trackback for it. The results from this are varied depending on the site and post that you are linking to but since I liked to comment and interact with the wider blogosphere anyway, it was free traffic!
Using these three simple techniques, I took The PC Doctor blog from a few hundred hits a day into the thousands in less than 30 days.

An Ethiopian Airlines plane with 85 passengers on board crashed into the Mediterranean sea shortly after taking off from Beirut airport in the early hours of Monday, airport sources said. NEW YORK: Google Inc founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin plan to sell about 10 million of the company’s shares over the next five years, the company said in a regulatory filing on Friday.
Page and Brin currently own about 57.7 million shares of Google’s Class B common stock — roughly 18 percent of Google’s outstanding capital stock and about 59 percent of the voting power of Google’s outstanding capital stock.
If the two founders both sell 5 million shares as planned, they would own about 47.7 million shares, which would represent around 15 percent of Google’s outstanding capital stock and 48 percent of the voting power of Google’s outstanding capital stock.

Avatar gets 8 Noms for British Film Awards
LONDON: Sci-fi extravaganza ‘Avatar,’ Iraq drama “The Hurt Locker” and coming-of-age story “An Education” earned eight nominations apiece Thursday in the race for the British Academy Film Awards, Britain’s equivalent of the Oscars.
The three films are up for best picture alongside “Up in the Air” and “Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire.”
The British awards, known as BAFTAs, are handed out two weeks before the Academy Awards in Hollywood and considered an important indicator of likely Oscar success

Oil prices
Oil prices rose slightly on Friday with gains capped by weak energy demand in the United States and worries over the strength of China’s economy, the world’s biggest energy-consuming nations, traders said.
New York’s main contract, light sweet crude for March delivery, climbed 11 cents to 76.17 dollars a barrel.
Brent North Sea crude for delivery in March gained 22 cents to 74.80 dollars a barrel.

Woman kills Boyfriend by Sitting on Him, A WOMAN weighing 136kg has pleaded guilty to killing her much smaller boyfriend – by sitting on him.
Police in Cleveland said Mia Landingham and Mikal Middleston-Bey, who have three children together, got into an argument in August.
During the altercation Landingham sat on Middleston-Bey, who weighed 54.4kg.
Landingham was sentenced to three years probation and 100 hours community service on Wednesday after pleading guilty to involuntary manslaughter, Fox8 reported.
She was immediately released from jail.
Her attorney told said there was a long history of domestic abuse in the relationship. He asked Judge Carolyn Friedland for leniency and pointed out she has no prior criminal record.
Landingham she was sorry for squashing the father of her children.
“I just want to say that I am sincerely sorry about this situation. I wish I could take it back,” she said.
During Landingham’s sentencing, her boyfriend’s family spoke of the pain she has caused their family.
“I just want to let you know how much you have hurt us by taking Mikal away from us,” said Sharon Phillips, the victim’s step-mother.
While Middleton-Bey’s family hoped Landingham would eventually be able to take part in her children’s lives, they were surprised that she got no additional jail time.
“So basically you can say that I can go sit on somebody and get probation?” said one of the victim’s sisters.
